After Morphou and Limassol “Youth Leaders and Cultural Activists”, an independent group of young Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots, take over Ledra/Lokmaci Street in Nicosia, in the name of peace, tolerance and fun, with their One StreetS Festival, this Saturday 10 December 2011, from 13 to 16 p.m.
Featuring the slogan “CTR+ALT+DELETE” speaking for the organizers’ intention to cancel the ‘walls’ existing between the people of diverse ethnicities inhabiting Cyprus, the first part of the Festival runs in Ledra Street from 13 to 14:30 with a Zumba party, song, dance and street performances, basketball games, photo exhibitions, as well as an exhibition by famous caricaturist Musa Kayra. The second part takes place in Lokmaci Street from 14:35 to 16 with more music, featuring the bands Jazziez and Iptamenoi Podylates, as well as dance and street performances.
TheatrEtc is contributing to the festival with a 'Diversity Bus' Street Theatre activity open to the public!
